The swarm has trickled down. Those that were moving along
have gone past how far we can see with our bare eyes.
Now we are left with what’s in the moat. It will take days to
kill off the ones that didn’t land on stakes. We really need to
be more efficient in making stakes for the moat. As that’s
all we can think to put in there.
So a few days of killing. We have to spread it out because
there are still daily chores to be done. Everything has to
be broken down into the time we have daylight.
And then we’ll spend a few days burning them.
It has been a long day. And now I will go to sleep. I thank
God or whoever is allowing us to live now, every single
day for Robert’s ability to get the water flowing for us.
We might not have to struggle for food. There’s no electric
unless we need to use the generator. We have so little.
But running water? We have. And it feels like heaven to be
able to take a shower. Even if I have to freeze half to death.
For now? We’re still here. And so are the zombies in the moat.
